The YE083 is designed for the evaluation of the halftone reproduction of an electronic camera. Two 11-graduated counter current gray scales are arranged on a gray background(D=0.62) . The gray scales being graduated logarithmically (gamma = 0.45).The output signal of an optimal gamma-corrected camera yields two 11-graduated counter current linear step signals. The contrast range of the gray scale is 40:1.

The values of the 11-graduated gray scale are as follows:

Step Density Reflectance in %
1 0.05 89
2 0.13 74
3 0.22 60
4 0.32 48
5 0.43 37
6 0.55 28
7 0.69 20
8 0.86 14
9 1.06 9
10 1.31 5
11 1.65 2

The density of the white field between the gray scale is D=0.05 (reflectance = 89%).

FAQs About  Grayscale Charts

Every 2,000 - 3,000 hours or manufacturer recommendation to maintain consistent light and color quality.

True color in chemistry is the color seen in a solution or compound in standardized conditions. It depends on electronic transitions in molecules, specifically absorption of a particular wavelength of light, and this depends on the structure of the compound.

For wallpaper color consistency & quality control (including solid-color, printed, textured, and embossed wallpapers), these 3nh spectrophotometers deliver optimal performance:

1. TS8560 Benchtop (Lab & R&D – Best Accuracy)

  • d/8° integrating sphere, SCI/SCE dual mode

  • ΔE*ab ≤ 0.01 (repeatability), IIA ≤ 0.1

  • Multi-apertures (Φ3/8/15/25mm) — ideal for large patterned wallpapers

  • UV control (for optical brighteners in paper)

  • Best for: Lab formulation, color standardization, batch-to-batch consistency

  • TS8560 Benchtop instrument

2. TS7700 Portable (Production & Field)

  • d/8° (SCI/SCE), ΔE*ab ≤ 0.02

  • Handheld, fast, non-destructive

  • Large aperture (Φ20mm) averages out texture/pattern unevenness

  • Best for: Production line checks, warehouse incoming inspection, on-site matching

  • TS7700 Portable spectrophotometer instrument

3. PS2080 Portable (Textured/Patterned Wallpapers)

  • d/8°, interchangeable apertures (Φ4/8mm + 1×3mm)

  • High stability for rough/embossed surfaces

  • UV included for fluorescent inks/papers

  • Best for: Complex printed, textured, or metallic-effect wallpapers

  • PS2080 Portable spectrophotometer

4. NS800 (Cost-Effective Routine QC)

  • 45/0 geometry, ΔE*ab ≤ 0.04

  • Touchscreen, easy operation

  • Best for: Uniform solid-color wallpapers, basic production QC

  • NS800 Hand Held Spectrophotometer

Short Recommendation

  • Top lab precision: TS8560

  • Best portable production: TS7700

  • Best for textured/patterned: PS2080

  • Economical routine QC: NS800

All ensure stable, repeatable color measurement for wallpaper rolls, panels, and printed patterns.

The measurement of color varies according to context in several units. Such common units are L*a*b* (CIELAB), RGB (Red-Green-Blue), and color difference (Delta E). In light absorption, there are no units assigned to absorbance. But the quantitative analysis of absorbance obeys Beer's Law in colorimetry.

Threenh colorimters are used across various industries to measure, analyze, and control color accuracy and consistency:

Food and Beverages: Monitor color quality in food products to meet industry standards.

Plastics and Polymers: Ensure color uniformity in plastic components (e.g., casings, buttons, panels) during manufacturing.

Chemicals and Pharmaceuticals,Cosmetics: Industry-specific accessories to attain the highest safety protocols, Ensure uniform color in pharmaceutical products for quality and brand recognition;Develop and match colors for cosmetics (e.g., lipsticks, creams, powders) and ensure batch consistency.

Textiles and Apparel: Monitor color consistency in fabrics during dyeing, printing, or finishing processes; ensure color consistency in fabrics and garments.

Building materials, Paints, and Coatings: Detect color deviations in coatings on metal, wood, or plastic surfaces (e.g., automotive paints, furniture finishes). Maintain color accuracy in building materials, paints, and coatings.

Printing and Packaging: Validate color accuracy in printed materials (e.g., brochures, labels, packaging) against design proofs, maintain consistency across different printing technologies.

By addressing color-related quality control challenges, 3NH colorimeters help industries maintain brand consistency, meet regulatory standards, and enhance customer satisfaction.
